Kanye West orders £2000 takeaway curryWhy is this news you may ask? Why is it not news, I ask?

Best part of the article is the last paragraph.

West has never eaten in the British Raj before. The £2,000 tab only covers the food and the chef’s time. West’s label will pick up the flight costs.

There have all been times where we’ve craved unattainable food. I for one often crave the Hot Sweet Basil from Spice in NYC, or Mojitios from Pura Vida in Atlanta. While far from being a delicacy, I consider the regular Chicken Strips from Sam’s and the Buffalo Chicken Strips from Otters both in Nashville some of the best in the world. So if I had the money, I’d see to it that I could have those any time I wanted.

So, the chance to eat what is likely really great Curry in the form of a 5 foot long fish, there is really no reason to pass that up.

Winner for most unusual piece of development this pilot season goes to ABC, which has turned a series of quirky Geico commercials into a comedy project.”Cavemen” will revolve around three pre-historic men who must battle prejudice as they attempt to live as normal thirtysomethings in modern Atlanta.

It’s kinda funny. I thought it was an unwritten rule in TV that a show set in Atlanta (and 2 of 3 times in Chicago) had to revolve around a black cast. Hmmm.

Seriously though, the pilot could maybe be funny. Emphasis on maybe. but where do you go for a second episode?
a similar show that would be hilarous however would be Encino Man. Think of it. A crossover episode where they go on a field trip to the biodome. hilarity (on a post-modern self-referential level) ensues. you could probably even get pauly shore and brendan fraiser in on it (what else are they doing?) Plus it be great seeing them at nearly 40 trying to pass for teenagers. AH-MAZING!

So I want to go to church, but those pews are just so uncomfortable. If only I could stay in the rich Corinthian leather of my Audi while I ready from Corinthians. If any thing, its like I’m giving God double props, am I right? But what church would let me drive my car inside? Well problem solved. Drive in Church.

Plus, people get married and have funerals in Churches. Why don’t we include those functions too. Nothing like telling someone “I love you” and/or “I will miss you” but I’m kinda in a rush.

The drive thru strip club though, I really don’t get that one.

P2p Lawsuits dot com

As part of its new initiative to convince universities to turn over the names of students suspected of copyright infringement (more on that soon), the RIAA has launched its P2Plawsuits.com website, which, in a deliciously ironic twist, had previously hosted all sorts of ads for dodgy P2P clients.

On the site, students whose universities have agreed to turn over student names to the RIAA and users whose ISPs have agreed to turn over subscriber names to the RIAA can apply for a settlement by entering their case number, and even pay their settlement online, which the RIAA promises will be represent “a substantial discount” from what they would have had to settle for before this campaign launched.

The new process is a response to the RIAA’s frustration with our legal system, which requires the organization to use the IP address of a suspected infringer to subpoena ISPs or universities for the name of the suspected infringer, after which settlement talks usually begin. In a conference call that ended minutes ago, however, the organization claimed that it launched the university-oriented part of this campaign as a response to file sharing defendants’ pleas for a way to have settled the cases privately, so that their names don’t become part of the public record.

You can’t deny that its much easier, and likely less costly that actually going out and getting a lawyer (we’re expensive) to try and fight and/or settle the case. Its mostly just the final paragraph that really shocks me. “We’re tired of having to go to the trouble to prove people guilty (they all think they are innocent until we prove otherwise… can you believe that?!), so now we’re offering settlements to-go!”
I’d like to see what kind of settlement they are offering, and if its less than if you didn’t turn yourself in.

This seems a little tricky. Because as far as I’m aware, Gore doesn’t have a separate office in Nashville, thus he works from his home, presumably with at least some mininmal staff. Also, I used to live just outside of Belle Meade. Even if his family did everything they could to preserve energy, these houses are so huge that the heating and cooling bills alone must be astronomical.
Either way, I’d like to see him come out and say that he is now working with a company like Citizenre to convert his home to solar power (and provide added electricity into the system in general).

Is it not a little disheartening to hear/read phrases such as “the technology of processing materials with plasma has been around for some time now”? Why is that always seem to be the case?

Either way, a machine that changes garbage into energy. hmmm, seems that Doc Brown already introduced us to a Mr. Fusion
Either way it sounds like a genius idea. living in New York, I can only wonder where the mounds of garbage i see sitting on streets everyday goes? I mean, i know there are miles upon miles of long island that serve as a garbage dump. and the southeastern side of manhattan is being slowly built up over the years to provide more land space with things including garbage.

I don’t mean to go all Al Gore, but it is pretty disconcerting when you really think about how we treat this planet. There really does seem to be very little incentive for anyone to clean up after themselves. that is until its too late.

now if you’ll excuse me, i have some 6-pack plastic rings to tape back together. I just get a kick out of seeing birds trapped in those things.

A recent Gallup poll reveals that Americans are much more likely to elect a black man or a woman president than a Mormon or an old man. More interestingly, they’d rather be governed by a homosexual than an atheist.

Somehow, I have to somewhat question the real intention of some of these people. I can’t see 55% of Americans voting for an effeminate Homosexual, or 92% of Americans voting for an Orthodox Jew. While religion, race, etc play some roll in determining votes, I don’t think you’re going to see too many candidates too far outside the mainstream politician image.

I love some terrible horror films. Not so much watching them, mostly just seeing them at the video store and thinking I should rent them. Not that I have completely avoided them. There will always be such classics as the Sleepaway Camp trilogy, or Blood Sisters of Lesbian Sin (which had no lesbians as far as i can remember)

but here is a pretty bang up list of the 100 worst horror movie names. personaly, i dont know if i can limit such a list, but this is certainly a good list.

i just dont understand how these films can get made, and yet Gay Werewolf 2 sits in limbo with no distribution

Fashion
Bigger T Shirts. People can hate on this all they wants. And I’ll agree that I do not look forward to seeing hipsters in big baggy t-shirts. It feels too Hip Hop. But maybe we’ll see just longer shirts. Maybe even to the point of tunics. I think with skinny jeans and leggings, its inevitable.
New Pants. They look suspiciously like old pants. You probably wont even be able to tell the difference if you just look out at a city street. But trust me, they are completely different.

Music
Rise of more electronic music. This rock bands playing dancey music is cool and all. And maybe we’ll see plenty of bands still, but look to Shout Out Out Out Out, LCD Soundsystem and Klaxons – bands dependent on electronic elements that may add a few “natural” elements as well. Dance parties are on the rise. Electro music in the same vein of all these dance rock bands is marching forward. The first hurdle however is picking a genre name. My suggestions: Electrock, Ragtime 2, Super Wave, Cocaine-arang
4th wave Ska. Ska reappears every 8-ish years. If anything,we are overdue. I welcome it with open arms. The real question is where do we go? If you evolve Ska along the evolution of Punk, I think that means were due for Emo Ska. I mean, is it really that difficult to think of Panic! At the Disco or Fall Out Boy adding a couple horns? You get Days Gone Wrong

Politics
People from all sides for all sorts of reasons speak out against those in power. Few will do anything proactive (talking crap about the other side is hardly proactive). Ultimately, little will change
The Media will become obsessed with who may or may not run for President in the next election. Despite such, everything will change by the time we even reach the Primaries. Much Sound and Fury, signifying nothing

My Personal Life
I will get married August 4th. Honeymoon in Belize. It will be awesome
Law School will be very difficult. I will question why I ever thought it was a good idea on a nearly daily basis as finals approach. In the end, its worth it… at least it better be

More Predictions to come as I continue to gaze into my Crystal Ball
